Tiny House
Consh 2 is designed to accommodate a couple and has a loft bedroom. The roof window brings in lots of light and views of the stars at night.
Natural materials
Living in a wooded region of France, we like to use locally harvested timber as much as possible. We use douglas, sweet chestnut, poplar and larch with respect to their particular merits. The insulation is cotton, linen and hemp fibre. The internal walls and ceiling are poplar plywood and the floor is chestnut planks. Attention to detail is found in our hand crafted chestnut and ash.
Interior details
The kitchen has a large double sink, a duo gas hob and an ash countertop. The shower room has a composting toilet, generous 120cm shower, vanity built into the bay extension and cupboard housing the water heater and VMC.
Sleep upstairs
The chestnut staircase leads to the spacious sleeping loft. Behind the bed head is a storage cupboard for clothing. An ash desk forms the edge of the mezzanine floor. All the hand built larch windows open outwards and the loft area benefits from a roof light over the sleeping zone.
Exterior Features
Outside, the roof is corrugated galvanised steel and the walls are clad in locally sourced douglas fir and corrugated black bitumen fibre sheets. The materials are picked for their sustainability, function and eco friendliness. A porch provides shelter from sun and rain.
