Consh 1

Tiny house

The house is 4.6 x 2.2 metres outside measurement. We designed this house as guest accommodation or a holiday home. There is limited storage space for full time living although it would suit people who like to live minimally.

Natural materials

The insulation is wood fibre and cotton. The internal walls and ceiling are poplar plywood and the floor is chestnut planks. Attention to detail is found in the hand crafted local chestnut and oak that we use.

Interior details

The kitchen has a fridge, sink and a slide out electric mini oven and hob. The oak countertop folds down when required. The wet room has a pull out composting toilet, bamboo wash basin and brass shower fitting.

Sleep upstairs

The chestnut staircase leads to the sleeping loft which nests like a bird in the trees. All the repurposed windows have concertina blinds.

Exterior Features

Outside, the roof is corrugated galvanised steel and the walls are clad in locally sourced Douglas fir and corrugated black bitumen fibre sheets. The materials are picked for their sustainability, function and eco friendliness. A porch provides shelter from sun and rain. The service cupboard allows external access to water heater and electrical consumer unit.

"

It’s simple, we really appreciate our beautiful tiny house. Finally, I think that tiny houses will experience an increasing interest in the coming years, cost, comfort of life, healthy materials, ease of heating, normal houses with living room of 50m² will become outdated for many people who prefer to spend less and therefore work less, at least I hope so! In any case, our Earth really needs humans to take up less space!
